Dell PN7522W rechargeable active pen stops writing but is still connected

Hi,

I have a new Dell inspiron 2in1 7620 with a Dell PN7522W rechargeable active pen and ive set everything up the way its described, downloaded the dell periphal manager and updated it to the newest version. Here is my Problem, after a certain amount of time the pen stops working but not completely, as i can still use all of the buttons, i just cant press or write anything with it. Ive tried everything i could imagine, i deleted the pen to set it up again, i downloaded the peripheral manager again but nothing seems to work. I even gave back my first P7522W for a new one but the pen isnt the only problem. I hope someone of you can help me with my problem. Thanks in advance.

This issue is related to the following issue:

Your Pen does work fine, but there are hardware issues on the Dell Inspiron 7620 2in1 which prevent the flawless use of a pen.

Is there a way to fix it? Ive been communicating with dell and they have send me two drivers but after installing both of them the problem was still there. They told me that the recommended pen for the system is the PN5122W but as the article shows there is the same Problem with that pen.

I have the exact same issue. That honestly would be a dellbreaker for me...
Absolutely love that 7620 2in1 and it would be too sad to return with that pen.

This happens to me on a 7420 2in1, with the same PN7522W rechargeable active pen. Bluetooth is still connected but pen just stops writing. Disconnecting / reconnecting BT doesn't help.

It comes back as soon as I plug it on a usb-c cable. This happens regardless of charge level, even when fully charged. It still works for a bit after unplugging, but eventually it stops writing again. My guess is plugging the usb-c causes some kind of electrical reset, and things come back

EXTREMELY ANNOYING. Note that I've bought the rechargeable version because I had the same problem with the battery-powered pen and thought that it came from the batteries.

Best regards

For those who still strugle with this problem (including myself), i found a solution which isnt very pleasing but still an alternative from not beeing able to write with youre Dell Active Pen. At the Moment i am using an Active Pen from HP whenever my Dell Pen stops working but you could also only use the HP Active Pen (i just like the feeling of the dell pen). Only downside is that this pen by HP isnt rechargeable. For those who are interested this is where i bought it but you can search for your self (HP pro pen) (https://www.galaxus.de/de/s1/product/hp-pro-pen-stylus-13390673?gclid=CjwKCAjwge2iBhBBEiwAfXDBRwerxgXYPekNiM9NogDxdQZp733qvGH3gmq7t_SnIPGHBSQSwTUL1RoCVAYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)
