Thunderbolt compatible with laptops

Hi, I am somehow puzzled with the information about using a Thunderbolt docking station, here WD22TB4.

For example: the laptop Inspiron 14 5430 shows a list of interfaces, one being a 1 Thunderbolt™ 4-Port with DisplayPort™ und Power Delivery. But according to the information given in the "dell_docking_compatibility_guide.pdf" an Inspiron 5430 is not compatible with a Thunderbolt docking station, rather with only UD22.

Or vice versa: the compatibility list shows a compatibility of WD22TB4 and Latitude 3540, but the specification of Latitude 3540 does not mention a Thunderbolt port.

Is this a misunderstanding from my side? or question: does somebode operate an Inspiron with the Thunderbolt Dock WD22TB4?

Any assistance in clarification would be appreciated.
