Charging Smartphone via USB-Type B?

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to charge my smartphone via the USB Type B port on my monitor. I have purchased a cable (USB Type B to USB-C). When I connect the smartphone, charging does not start. Is there a setting in the monitor menu that I can use to enable charging via USB Type B?
