M4800 internal display dark

my brand new M4800 laptop /occasionally/ does not recognize it's own internal display. that means,

• when in standalone mode, the computer tries to start when switching on; control lights such as HDD look as if the comoputer is trying to start, but he display stays entirely black. No way out other than reset, and even that helps only after many tries.
• when working in docking station, only the secondary display lights up. The internal display is not showing when trying to adjust display settings, both in the Intel and the NVida graphics settings.

The problem is intermittent, meaning sometimes the computer behaves just normally, and the rest of times it is just hard to get it to work at all. The occurance likelyhood of the problem appears to growing over time. I was not able to find any correlation between occurance of the problem and other circumstances (docking station or not, different monitors, type of reset or wakeup..)
